Chillin' Chinchillas

A Mother and Son Chinchilla Rescue Project

Chance and Rocky

Chance is a sweet boy approximately 1 1/2 to 2 years old. He wasn't given much attention and is very shy. We have been working with him for about two months and he is finally coming out of his shell. He has bonded with Rocky and it has done wonders for him. He is still very calm and shy, but he now comes for treats!

Rocky is a BIG boy! He came to us to find a friend. He was bonded with his mate, who passed after giving birth. Rocky went into a deep depression. He came to us and perked right up with all the chinchillas around him. He is a rascal, and will try and get into trouble if he can. He has bonded with Chance, and they do very well together.

If interested in the pair, please contact us at 4carlins@comcast.net. These boys are bonded and must go together. Please be aware, that a seperate cage should always be kept on hand for bonded pairs. Sometimes the best of friends will randomly decide they want nothing to do with each other all of a sudden. They are a sweet pair and deserve a great home!

Addie has been with us for quite a while. She is a sweet girl, about 2 and a half years old. She is a sweet girl, but lately she has been getting fiesty. I believe it is because she doesn't get as much one-on-one attention anymore. I think she would do better in a home where she is an only chin or there are very few. She DOES NOT get along with other females. When we got her, she had a few chewed tail and she was very skittish. Now she is outgoing and LOVES attention. I just feel that I don't have enough to give her with the amount she desires.

Want to Adopt?

If you would like to go ahead and fill out an application so I can put you on a waiting list, please email me at 4carlins@comcast.net with any questions and I will get you an application immediately. That way, we know what kind of chinchilla will suit you best, and we can let you know when they arrive here! It is best to be prepared, because there are times when there are none, and times when we might have an abundance of sweethearts needing a family. If you are on the waiting list, it speeds up the process.

Need to Rehome Your Chinchilla?

If you need to rehome a chilla or need any kind of assistance, please email me at 4carlins@comcast.net for information and questions. I will get back to you immediately. I will send you a surrender form.  You will need to bring it with you in order for me to take your chilla. I do ask that if you need to rehome your chilla, you please donate the cage and supplies you have. For one, you want your chilla to adjust properly, so having as much familiarity around is a must. They will be in a new enviroment with new animals and people. Not all chinchillas react the same. Some can be introduced to other chillas, some prefer to stay alone. I also like to hold off on changing their diet right away, that is why I ask for your left over food and treats. We will make sure every chilla is happy, healthy, and loved!
